Reuben K Chen, MD, has always had an interest in holistic medicine, believing that quality of life should be paramount in the treatment of patients. He studied medicine at the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine where he earned his medical degree in 2007. During his time in medical school, he would travel to the Kaohsiung Medical University in Taiwan to learn about Chinese medicine, and he would eventually become certified in acupuncture. From there he went to the University of Minnesota where he became board certified in the field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He also became an avid student of the field of regenerative medicine, learning about prolotherapy, platelet rich plasma, and various types of stem cell treatments. After his specialty training at the University of Minnesota, he would make his way back to California where he spent 10 years at the forefront of alternative pain management combining his knowledge of alternative therapies, acupuncture, regenerative medicine, and western medicine. Dr. Chen has now joined the Health Atlast Fort Worth team with Dr. Wilson, a world-renowned neurosurgeon, along with a team of physical medicine specialists to bring forward a unique, holistic approach to health and wellness.
